Ingredients (serves 12)
- 250g porridge oats
- 125g butter
- 125g light brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons of golden sugar
Pre-heat your oven to 180 degrees (a little hotter if it’s not a fan oven). Melt the sugar, butter and syrup in a pan, take it off the heat and then stir in the oats so they are fully coated in the mixture. Spoon the mixture into a lined 20×20 cm baking tin and press the mixture firmly down into the tin. Bake in the oven for approximately 25 minutes. The mixture should be bubbling when you take it out as will solidify when cooling. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream and fresh fruit or on their own in packed lunch boxes.
