Blackberry & Apple Crumble

Ingredients (for a 4 portion crumble)


  • 1 large Bramley apple, peeled and sliced
  • 4 handfuls of blackberries
  • 150g plain flour
  • 87g golden caster sugar
  • 100g unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons of golden caster sugar


Add the sliced apple, blackberries and the 3 tablespoons of golden caster sugar to the bottom of a small baking dish.  In a separate mixing bowl, rub together the plain flour, 87g caster sugar and the butter so it forms a crumble mixture resembling bread crumbs.  Cover the blackberries and apple with all of the breadcrumbs and bake in a fan oven for 35 minutes at 180 degrees centigrade.  Serve with home-made custard.
